The Musings of the Sunday School Teacher (Part IV)

I know you are enjoying my Sunday School teacher’s diary. I am too. If you missed it please read here, here and here.  I appreciate all your kind responses and I am satisfied my diary entries have been useful to you. Please feel free to share and pass them along.

What am I sharing today? Hmm....

How can you as a parent encourage your kids Sunday school teacher?
Everybody needs some form of encouragement or the other. In part two, I wrote how not to frustrate your kids’ teacher by ensuring continuation. This however is directed towards your kids.

Like the sweet woman who supplies drinks and sometimes snacks for my kids on many Sunday, her act of kindness is very encouraging and a blessing to the children’s ministry. My sister-in-law sometimes bakes cakes to bless the kids too.

I once wrote about Lauren who helped me secure over 45 Bibles for each of my regular kids. These efforts are not only encouraging but reassures me as a teacher that God sends people to meet needs and reach out.

What efforts would you make that will be beneficial to the Sunday school teacher?

Four Ways to Encourage your Kids Sunday School Teacher

Acts of Kindness. The children ministry is always having a list of items needed to help the ministry. Contribute the little you can. It will go a long way, trust me!

Acts of service. You may not be a teacher. Yes! but that is understandable. Not everyone can cope with lots of kids in one room. There are services like putting up posters, cutting out boards and teaching aids, serving the kids, preparing meals, etc.  These services can help the Sunday school teachers.

Encouraging Words. As simple as it sounds, I like it and feel encouraged when my kids’ parents say their kids are learning and improving. It helps to know your actions are valued and impactful.

Pray for them. Like other ministers, don’t fail to lift up your children’s teachers in prayers. They need more prayers than you know. Watching over a bunch of kids is a daunting task.

Feel free to ask what areas your Sunday school teachers need help. You may be surprised how useful you will be.

Comment Prompt:
When last did you appreciate your kid’s Sunday School teacher? Can you add to the suggestions above? Would be interesting to read your comments.
