I smiled as I recall all those years the Lord had
brought me through. Every thought was lined with His ray of Hope. Strangely, I
felt overjoyed in my heart yet; drops of tears fell through my face.
Here I was
alone and busy in my kitchen and the Lord knocked at the door of my heart.
He spoke to me in the midst of my activities and
reminded me of how many lonely paths we had walked together.
“Where
is your heart, child?”
I was overtaken by activities, holiday
preparation, church things and coking here and there.
Did I forget where my heart should be?
I think I did!
The song in my heart is of the Song of Hope.
The music that should be in our spirits,
The joy of the salvation He brings,
The Hope of our waiting,
That is the true advent song!
I ask you again,
Where
is your heart this Christmas?
What
song does your heart sing?
My pondering brought my heart to the right place. My focus once more shifted to the One Person who matters most in this season.
As we glean our thoughts, let it bring us to the one place where it needs to be.
Let none of our moments in this season fail to express the hope that the Lord brings to our hearts.
Let us not be distracted by the merry noise but rather let our hearts linger in the place of reverend surrender.
Just like Mary, let your spirit be sensitive to know when to sit still and curl up at His feet. Let us know the moments to withdraw from activities and wait on Him.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. Luke 10:39 (KJV)
Again, like Mary, let your heart seek after the one thing that matters most. Let your heart be wrapped around the one thing that is needful.
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Luke 10:42 (KJV)
As we find space to dwell in His Presence, let us keep our hearts open to listen to the whispers of Hope He speaks into our ears. Let your listening ears tune up for His worthy soft voice.
May we not miss His Word for us in the midst of our celebrations.
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Luke 10:41 (KJV)
May every thought we make be centred on His unfailing Love for us.
May we capture the essence of His Gift of Salvation and the hope He brings.
Amen
Have a Splendid Holiday, friends.
By His Great Grace,
Ifeoma Samuel
