My face literally beamed with
excitement. I’d shared about my planned activities for the upcoming holiday.
Unaware
that my sweet friend wrestled in her heart as I shared my plans. She was
unavoidably going to do nothing but work and more work!
I
felt trapped by guilt.
Had
I not brought up the conversation, her mood would have been different, so I
thought.
She
was feeling left out even before the holiday it began.
As
I write this, my heart goes out to all the moms and dads working hard this
Christmas just to make your little ones smile.
Whether
your job is an essential duty or you are a shop attendant or you live far away
from home whichever case it is, this is for you.
If you
are going to be alone this Christmas and you have no-one to share your
this moment with, this is for you.
My
sweet friend had barely made it through the year. She is hopeful the Christmas
sale will push her and daughter out of this deep financial mess.
Are
you like my dear friend pushing hard just to make it through the end of the
year?
Are
you sacrificing your holiday just to scale through?
Many times we make a lot of
sacrifice just to pull tail ends together.
May
be you watch other families rejoice, do shopping together, take a vacation and
wonder how long you are going to here stuck.
May
be your family is barely able to stick its head out of water.
I
assure you someone up there sees your labour.
I
assure you someone hears your heart beating for something more.
Someone
knows how lonely and detached you feel.
That
same someone had watched you struggle through the year and knows your desires.
That
someone is Jesus.
Jesus
knows, friend.
While
you are serving from your heart, remember God cares about you.
While you watch those families laugh,
know that someday, not far from now, God will put laughter in your mouth.
(Psalm 30:5)
Know that, you are not alone.
Your family cares about you.
Don’t see your situation as
challenge but as a worthy sacrifice. And in every worthy sacrifice is a
blessing
You are making a worthy sacrifice for
something better!
That counts for something!
Yes it does.
Look out the window, can you see the
sky?
Smile.
God knows and He is going to reward
your labor.
And your labor never going to be in
vain.
Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
ICorinthians 15:58 (KJV)
He has got wonderful plans for you.
(Jeremiah 29:11)
I wrote some fun ideas for you. Try
them out and put a smile on faces including yours
• Give a long distance call to someone
you haven’t heard from in a long while.
• Send out encouraging Christmas cards
or eCards via emails or messages
• Send out cute gifts like small toys
and teddy bears
• Tuck in a encouraging note at
someone’s door
• Give surprise cupcakes and chocolate
bars to someone who also feels lonely.
My Prayer For You: I pray for you
that you find encouragement and the Lord grants your heart peace. May the Lord
bless your home and your heart with a miracle that will cause you to celebrate
in Jesus Name.
