I envision the alarms going up in your head right now.
I said, what?
Yes, I am not perfect.
I am not scared to admit it.
On a lighter note, let me share with you a hilarious experience.
Of course as a blogger, I type a lot. I have typed the word “LAUNCH”
over fifty times this year, I guess. Shockingly for 95% of the time (still
happens) I have misspelt this very word.
For some weird reason I type it as “LAUCH”.
I have made several conscious efforts to slow down and type it in gently so my script
turns out perfectly.
Finally, I gave up and admitted to my imperfection.
Rather than bite my
head off over this word that freaks me out, I simply click on the “Spell
Checker” button.
Moving on...
Everyday,we work hard to have a perfectly knit life. We try to keep up
with appearances, family life, work life, parenthood... You name it.
However, it does not seem to hold up and life often never comes the way we want.
Or does it?
Perfect is an impossible word!
What looks perfect for Ms. A is unacceptable for Ms. B.
The more we try to live a perfect
life to gain approval of others we slowly and steadily live unhappy and dissatisfied
lives.
Give or
take, to live a happy life without guilt or shame we need to remove those false
standards and expectations we have for our lives and totally embrace God’s
Grace and His Will for the life we live.
Just the way I let go of the typing perfection and decided to click that
“Spell Checker button”, that same way I encourage you to embrace God’s grace to
live the life He has prepared for you.
And ye
are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians2:10
God’s love is our completion
God’s grace fills our broken places
God’s compassion embraces us in our moments of
weakness
God’s peace wells up and overflows in our lives when
we surrender our imperfection.
God is our perfection without Him we are nothing.
“We do not have to live life
to impress anyone”
It is time to swallow that thin pride of trying to be perfect and enjoy
the peace that comes with allowing
others in our imperfect moments.
Did I just say, allow people God has placed in our lives to help us in
our moments of need and weakness?
Yes absolutely. Why not?
There is nothing to be ashamed of,
“No one has everything in her life all together”
It is the right time to open our hands and receive the joys of
friendship, love and gifts of those vulnerable, imperfect moments in our
everyday lives.
