A couple of months
ago, my little girl went over to her uncle’s place to spend the weekend. You
see, her uncle has got a cross hanging on his wall. My daughter likes that cross very much.
And we were used to her simply looking up at it and saying, “that’s Jesus”. And we always respond with an
affirmation. At other times, after a long stare at the cross, she would ask “where is Jesus?” Our response was always,
“He is in your heart”.
On this weekend, it
was a different scenario. She gazed up at the cross and said with so much
confidence...
“Thank you Jesus for
looking at me”
Ever so serious, she
went on and on calling out names of all those she could remember and simply said,
“Thank you Jesus for
looking at ...”
She went on like a
prayer and everyone else responded with “AMEN”.
Her Uncle's wife, Sefora, asked me if I had
taught her to pray that way. I said “No”. Really, I don’t where she got that
from.
What inspired her to
make that unusual yet so powerful prayer?
I can’t remember saying those words
of prayer at least not in that way.
Simply
thanking the Lord for looking at us.
When
last did you thank the Lord for simply looking at you?
Today, I am making
that same prayer (a little modified) my little daughter made those months ago.
Will you join me and say...
“Lord Jesus,
thank you for watching over me”
“Lord Jesus, thank
you for watching over my family”
“Lord Jesus, thank
you for watching over those around me”
“Thank you Jesus
for watching over all that concerns me”
How do you feel?
Good, I suppose.
May be you have
forgotten to thank the Lord for simply looking or watching over us, this is a
timely reminder.
He
watches over us
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. Psalm 34:15
God
will not withdraw His eyes from us
He withdraweth not his eyes from the
righteous: but with kings are they
on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted. Job 36:7
He
hears us and will deliver us
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their
troubles. Psalm 34:17
Now your turn
friends, have you made any unusual prayer lately? Let’s share in the comments
