When the Bible is taken away!

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Timothy 3:16

We both sat there with smiles as we enjoyed the message. The service had began with prayers and we continued with reading from the Bible. As we left the building, my friend spoke about how blessed she was and was glad she honored my invitation.

I could see the satisfaction on her as her face lit up. She had been struggling in finances, marriage and suffered depression lately.

We had shared scriptures and deliberated on the encouragement from the Minister that day.

You would not imagine the comment she made next.

“You read the Bible in your church!”
I was dazed and I wondered what prompted her comment.

Don’t you read the Bible in your assembly? I asked because at this point I was confused.

No! She responded.

If you don’t read the Bible what then do you read? I asked her.

‘The church has some printouts given to us. I don’t take the Bible to church because we don’t get to read anything from it’.

WHAT!

Her response shocked me. You can imagine she barely knew scriptures let alone had bible study.

As we spoke on, I realise that

“the enemy is cleverly taking away the Bible from God’s people”

How can we belong to God’s kingdom and don’t know the laws or principles of the Kingdom we belong to?

“If the Bible is taken out from the Church, then what is left of the Church?”

5 Keys Reasons To Use Your Bible
The Bible is God’s Words divinely inspired and should be regarded above every literature or religious writings. Any sermon or material must have strong bearing and validated by God’s Words written in the Bible.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2Peter 1:21

Like the Berean Christians, we should dig in after each message from our Pastors and study the Bible and see if these things are so Acts 17:11.

Simply means,

“You Don’t Read your Pastor but God’s Words contained in the Bible”

We are not to rely on motivational teachings but absolutely on the Bible because we walk by faith Romans 1:17.

The Word of God is our being. Our very framework is meshed in God’s Words. Contained therein are several promises and covenants God has prepared for His children. How can we know God’s promises, if we don’t search the scriptures? Hebrews 4:12

The Word of God contains the Power and knowledge every believer should know. How can you know your Authority as a Believer if you don’t know what the Lord has given you?

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

We can only grow spiritually when we continuously Study our Bibles as we dwell in His presence 1 Peter 2:2.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17

We find comfort and encouragement in the Bible. The Word of God is our comfort in days of trouble. We overcome the enemy through the Power in God’s Words Ephesians 6: 12-17

Therefore my beloved in Christ we should never allow any organised religion, social gathering or assembly, snatch away the Bible from our hands let alone from our heart.

May God open our eyes to see the Power in His Words in Jesus Name.

Comment Prompt:
Have you encountered such a scenario? Have your Bible study being compromised? Is your assembly or anyone close to you watering down the use of the Bible?
