Everyday We Get That Chance!

I am fighting to get my perfect chance or so I thought. I am dreaming it has to come with a grand opening. I have all these lofty ideas waiting to happen. But they are still there in my head struggling to get out. I am waiting, for what exactly? May be the right time, I say to myself.

So, you have this beautiful project in your heart. You are burdened to participate in what God is doing in your community or church? You have a great idea for reaching out and blessing people’s lives. And like me, you seem to be waiting for the perfect timing to fulfill this grand idea burning in your heart.

To have this heart yearning to perform His Will is a great step!

Apostle Paul says

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.    2 Corinthians 8:11-12

Our ever revolving world seem to spin around and we starve for time, for space, for opportunity. These excuses well up in your heart,

If I had enough money,

If I had kids

If I got married

If I had a better job etc. 

The question is, “Will there really be the perfect time and opportunity to commence that which is in our heart?”

         One beautiful Sunday as I settled into my class, Mady, one of my Sunday school kids, walked into class fully energized with these two apples. With a big smile she handed them to me and said, “I got them for you teacher”. I felt much loved. She not only made my day, she taught me a memorable lesson.

You don’t have to wait till you have the convenience you long for

To show a little compassion

To appreciate someone in our lives

To reach out to someone who needs help

To bless hearts and share our gifts or talents

Everyday God gives us the chance we need

You know what?

God gives you the chance to be the great person you desire, a great person to yourself, a great person to others when you reach out in love and a great person to the world, when we begin what God has laid out for us.

He has given us everything we will need to accomplish everything He wants us to you.

God has prepared us ahead of time and enabled us.

There is no more room for those excuses. We can proceed with that which He has given us.

What do you do with the time and resources you have now?

It all boils down with what we do with the very limited time available and little resources we have in the lives of the precious people in our lives and community. It starts with our response to the angry gatekeeper, our smile to the crying child as we try to hold them up, our appreciation like little Mady in my class.

Everyday God gives us that chance we need.

It is up to us to make a choice of what we will do with it. God gives us the choice to make every day and in every situation. He gives us that chance

To help,

To love,

To forgive,

To learn and grow,

To be the best that He has made us to be. It is now our choice to make and determine what we do with the chance we get.

I love that He gives us that chance we need.

Prayer Prompt

Dear Lord, thank you for ‘the chance’ you give us each day to perform your counsel for our lives. Thank you because you are working in me right this moment as it is written in your Word

For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Philippians 2:13 (NIV)

Help us each day as I make that decision to do your will one step and one act at a time in Jesus name.
