LET US PRAY: DAY 7

Day 7

Devotion: Serving God Wholeheartedly

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
                               Colossians 4:17

One of my blogger friends, Rebekah Neal, posted an article that moved my heart. She made an Impossible Prayer Request which for me should be titled a very possible prayer request. She an her family desire to open their home as a place of refuge to Christians, missionaries and people who need solitude for prayer or book writing.

This is a beautiful plan. There are men and women who have a sincere desire to serve the Lord. I admire their passion to raise a ‘House of Shelter’.

♥     What can we learn from this?

♥     What project has the Lord laid in your heart to do?

♥     Are you moving on with it?

♥     What is your service in the Vineyard?

Perhaps, God has laid something in your heart to do and you are hesitating. Be encouraged and commence that project. God will raise helpers for you.  He has already equipped you for the service.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9

All you need is to be Willing, Obedient and Committed to do His good work.

I share your passion to serve the Lord but sometimes we may feel discouraged. But there is assurance in God’s words when we feel we are not good enough like Moses (Exodus 4:10) or we may not be able to overcome like Joshua (Joshua1:5).

I will very much want my children in faith and biological to love the Lord and also serve in His vineyard. Yet, our children will only follow our footsteps if they watch us pour out God’s love into the lives of others wholeheartedly.

One beautiful morning, my Sunday school kids expressed how grateful they were having me teach them. I was impressed by their remarks but not so satisfied. You may say to God you love Him with your lips but your attitudes do not match up to your words.

Does your gratitude to God end only in words and not accompanied by actions?

So I told my kids, it is not enough saying the words of gratitude. They need to live it out. They need to live a Godly life just as they have been taught.

Having said all, Let us pray for ministers of God all over the world including men and women who desire to serve the Lord sincerely and Let us pray for our children.

Prayer Focus #1
Lord we pray for people, like Rebekah, who still have the desire to serve you in their ministry. Father be their provider and encourage them. Let their needs be supplied. The way may be rough and tedious but Lord we trust that you will make it plain.

Lord the field is white and the harvest is plentiful, raise men and women of passion for the furtherance of the gospel. Let a great army of generals arise for the mission call.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke 10:2

Like Rebekah Neal, Lord we ask that you give us the heart to serve you wholeheartedly without fear or compromise.

Prayer Focus #2
Lord our children will show forth your praises. Guide them Lord in the way of your truth. Lead them in the paths of righteousness. In the midst of the darkness, Lord Jesus, let the light of God in their lives shine forth.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 1:5

Let them learn of you and grow in wisdom. As they seek you, may they find you. Let their hearts be open to receive of your love and to also show that love to those around them just you will have us do.

Lord help us to raise them in your truth and shield them Lord away from the evil that be. In Jesus Name. Amen
